Threads is preparing a trending topics feature

Threads is developing its version of trending topics. Instagram head, Adam Mosseri, has officially confirmed in a recent post that the Threads team is actively working on integrating a new feature focused on "surfacing trends." This addition is set to enhance user engagement and keep the platform dynamic.

A leaked screenshot by Alessandro Paluzzi hinted at a feature titled "Today's topics," bearing resemblance to X's "Trending Topics." This feature is designed to showcase the most popular topics among users. It could incorporate specialist reviews to ensure a more curated and meaningful experience. Meta would also want to steer clear of the pitfalls seen with trends like "Taylor Swift AI."

Recently, the internet witnessed the spread of sexually explicit AI-generated images featuring Taylor Swift on X. This unfortunate incident underscores the growing challenge of combating the proliferation of AI-generated fake content, posing a hurdle in maintaining a safe and secure online environment.
