Nothing is the first to add ChatGPT to its earbuds

ChatGPT's foray into the world of wireless earbuds finally arrived, and it's Nothing leading the charge. Their latest products—the Ear and Ear (a)—boast an "industry-first" integration with ChatGPT. This allows Nothing Phone users (including the new Phone 2a) to seamlessly launch the chatbot with a simple pinch gesture on their earbuds.

The impact extends beyond audio. Nothing promises "system-level" ChatGPT features within Nothing OS. This paves the way for innovative AI-powered screenshot sharing, widgets, and likely more advanced ChatGPT functionalities in the future.

While specifics remain under wraps, ChatGPT's presence in Nothing's audio products feels like a natural evolution. Chatbots, particularly large language models like ChatGPT, hold immense potential, especially for improving stagnant voice assistants. Integrating ChatGPT into on-the-go earbuds equipped with microphones and constantly paired with smartphones creates a powerful platform for the LLM to truly shine.

Nothing has a unique opportunity to define the future of chatbot-phone interaction before Apple enters the scene. The ChatGPT integration with Nothing OS is available today on Phone 2, with Phone 1 and Phone 2a receiving it later this month. Similarly, the Ear and Ear (a) earbuds enjoy the feature today, with a wider rollout across all Nothing and CMF products planned for June.
