Dell debuts monitors built for video conferencing

Dell's answer to subpar webcams is a new line of monitors specifically created for video conferencing. These aptly-named Video Conferencing Monitors come in 24-, 27-, and 34-inch sizes, with each certified for Microsoft Teams. The C2422HE, C2722DE, and C3422WE all have a dedicated Teams button. Dell emphasizes these screens' high-quality webcam and sound, which is courtesy of a 5-megapixel IR camera, dual 4W speakers, and built-in noise-cancelling microphone. The webcam can be used for Windows Hello, too.

Dell equipped these screens with the ComfortView Plus system to reduce blue light emissions without sacrificing colour accuracy. These displays will arrive in the US on February 16, with a price of US$520 (CA$659) for the C2422HE, US$720 (CA$912) for the C2722DE, and US$1,150 (CA$1,457) for the C3422WE.

Dell launches 40-inch ultrawide curved monitor

Source: Dell

Dell introduces its first 40-inch ultrawide curved monitor ahead of next week's virtual CES 2021 event. The UltraSharp 40 Curved WUHD display (U4021QW) comes with a 5,120 x 2,160-resolution panel that's substantially wider than a standard 4K display. So, if you want to view a full 4K clip, you can see the video controls off to the side or have something else open.

The UltraSharp 40 promises "wide colour coverage and excellent colour performance." Dell didn't mention HDR support, so you might not get it with this monitor. It supports 90W power for your PC via Thunderbolt 3 and promises fast data transfers with super speed USB 10Gbps and RJ45 internet. In the US, it'll launch on January 28 for US$2,100 (around CA$2,660).
