Samsung Galaxy S10 line begins receiving Android 11/ OneUI 3.0 update

Samsung’s Android 11-based OneUI 3.0 update istrickling out to various Samsung Galaxy S10 devices, including the Galaxy S10e and the Galaxy S10 5G models. Moving these older but still very capable flagships devices towards the latest feature release, OneUI 3.0 update includes visual changes to mostly first-party apps such as Contacts, Phone, Gallery.

Users may notice that the update also adds the ability to double-tap to turn off the screen, additional camera filters, and more. The Android December 2020 security patch is a key feature that you get in the latest version of the OneUI 3.0. To enable the update in the coming days go to your Settings> Software update

Samsung rolls out second One UI 3.0 beta for the Galaxy S10

While One UI 3.0 is being finalized for the Samsung Galaxy S20, some work needs to be done with the Galaxy S10 series. The Korean company has rolled out the second beta of One UI 3.0 for the Galaxy S10 series. It was initially supposed to come out last week, but it got delayed. The countries getting the update first are Korea, India, and the UK. If you're part of the beta and have an S10 device, you can check the update by heading to Settings > Software update and download it from there.

This update (version ZTL8) brings fixes to problems like those found in the Members app and Home UI being stuck in a restart loop. It offers a better camera experience, and unlocking using a fingerprint is finally possible. The stable version is expected to roll out in January, at least in some regions. The Galaxy Note10 series' One UI 3.0 beta is also coming soon. It was supposed to roll out last week as well, but it got delayed.

Samsung One UI 2.1 rolls out globally for Galaxy S10, Note 10

Samsung's new One UI 2.1 update is rolling out worldwide to the previous-generation Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series, bringing these handsets closer to the Galaxy S20, at least in terms of its software. It brings capabilities like single-tap-sharing with Quick Share and sharing Bluetooth audio connections with Music Share. The update also introduces camera features like 4K 60fps selfie video recording, Pro mode for video recording, Night Hyperlapse mode, better Night mode, and Single Take mode, among other features.

The One UI 2.1 update also includes the April 2020 security patch. Head to Settings > Software update to check if firmware version G97xFXXU4CTC9 arrived for your Galaxy S10 or version N97xFXXU3CTC9 arrived for your Galaxy Note 10.

If you have Samsung Galaxy S10 and Note 10, we have some good news for you. The tech company is bringing the Galaxy S20's new camera features to the previous generation Galaxy handsets. These functions include Single Take, Night Hyperlapse, as well as new gallery and sharing features. Samsung hasn't revealed yet when the rollout will be, but it will be available for select markets "in the coming weeks."
