Mark your calendars! Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) kicks off June 10, promising a week of exciting reveals. As Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reminds us in his Power On newsletter this week, the keynote on Monday sets the stage with the unveiling of iOS 18, rumoured to be the biggest iPhone OS upgrade ever. But that's not all—expect major updates for iPadOS, watchOS, VisionOS, and macOS.

Building on the momentum of the Vision Pro launch at WWDC 2023, Apple is poised to showcase its advancements in AI this year. The stakes are high, as the 2024 event will likely highlight a renewed focus on artificial intelligence across their entire product line.

iOS 17 brings more info on your iPhone even on StandBy

Photo: Apple

StandBy is a new feature that lets you use your iPhone as a smart display when it is charging on its side. You can customize StandBy to show different clock styles, photos, or widgets relevant to the time and place. You can also interact with StandBy using Live Activities, Siri, calls, and notifications, all designed to be easy to see and use from a distance. At night, it switches to a red tone so it won't disrupt your sleep. It is easy to bring up StandBy anytime by tapping the screen, and on iPhone 14 Pro with the Always-On display, it is always available.
