Bumble brings 'Ted Lasso' dating app to life

If you were wondering if Bantr would be a good fit to try out, you'd get to find that out soon. The chat dating app on the hit Apple TV+ show Ted Lasso is coming to Bumble. It's going to be a new feature called Bantr Live, where you get three minutes to chat with another Bantr Live player without seeing a photo of them (similar to the premise of Bantr on the show).

When your three minutes are up, you'll be asked if you want to match. You'll then see a small image of the other person. After you click yes or no, you'll be asked if you want to chat with someone new. The feature will be live every Thursday at 7pm starting on October 13 until December 31. The chat sessions will last until 8pm. So, you can use up the entire time to talk to different people. At the end of the session or when you choose to exit Bantr Live, you'll see if you made matches. The matches you've made (those that clicked yes) will show up on your regular Bumble Date queue.

Bumble won't allow you to share bikini, bra photos indoors

Embed from Getty Images

Dating app Bumble has a strange policy in place that we won't surprise you'll question. You can apparently take swimsuit and bra photos outdoors but not indoors. The app, which markets itself as empowering to women, took down pictures of artist Cali Rockowitz wearing a bralette indoors. If you took that or shirtless outdoors, then it's okay (but don't attempt to fake an outdoor shot).

According to the company, this policy took effect in 2016 after receiving complaints from users and research. According to the company, shirtless bathroom selfies were the "most swiped left on," so it decided to crack down on swimsuit and underwear shots, too. But if taken outdoors, these reflect a "natural setting" for bikinis. As Rockowitz commented on BuzzFeed News' story, "If they're going to enact the policy, they should assess it on a case by case basis. They can't just blanket this algorithm."
