CES 2019: Dell's Latitude 7400 2-in-1 is the smallest and most innovative 14-inch device in the market

Dell's Latitude 7400 2-in-1, or what was known internally as "Mission Impossible," is a remarkable feat of computer hardware engineering. This is an ultraportable business laptop featuring a 14-inch display in a 13-inch form-factor. It has a proximity sensor that knows when a user is near and then it can turn on using an ExpressSign-in feature.

A CES 2019 Innovation Honoree, the Latitude 7400 2-in-1 is the world’s smallest commercial 14” 2-in-1². It’s variable-torque hinge means that it can be opened easily, and it’s offered with a stunning new Titan Gray machined aluminum finish. It will also be the first Latitude to use Dell’s ocean-bound plastics packaging. It can also be charged up to 80% capacity in under an hour thanks to Dell's ExpressCharge technology and it can run up to 24-hours a day.

CES 2019: Dell unveils new XPS 13 with a top-mounted HD camera

Dell is coming on strong at the International CES in Las Vegas with a whole slew of compelling hardware during its #DellExperience event. One of the biggest products in Dell's stable is the XPS 13 which started the skinny bezel trend with the InfinityEdge display that everyone is following. One issue with older versions of the XPS 13 was that the front facing camera had to be placed at the bottom of the display.

This led to some very unflattering "nose-cam" images and was definitely not the sort of experience expected from a premium and corporate facing device.

Dell's solved that today with the all-new XPS 13 with the smallest mounted camera on a notebook yet. The Frost White variant of the XPS 13 is also whiter and frostier than ever. It will ship with 8 generation Intel processor, great battery life and innovative thermal technology. Definitely exciting stuff for one of the most beloved and desired notebooks out there.

CES 2019: Forget hoverboards, Swagtron's off-road electric skateboard is the new pipe dream

Swagtron was an ealry innovator in the electric hoverboard craze at CES years ago, now the company is back with an astonishing list of new electric bikes and scooters. While these make for convenient and efficient transportation, what stands out most is their beefy Swagskate off-road electric skateboard.

This looks like the love child of Batman's Tumbler Batmobile and an electric skateboard and it is glorious in its ruggedness. "Rolling on 9-inch knobby pneumatic tires and suspension trucks front and rear, this beast is boosted by dual 800-watt motors capable of 25 mph for up to 18 miles per charge. A responsive, durable 10-ply maple and bamboo deck ties it all together."

Swagskate can be used in urban and off-road environments and we can't wait to see what it can do in demos as well as find out how much it costs. 

Apple starts charging sales tax in Canada on Apple Music subs and iTunes purchases

Apple has confirmed that it is charging Canadian customers sales tax on purchases of TV shows, movies, music, audiobooks in Canada. In a statement to iMore, Apple reps stated tha the changes in Canadian legislation have required the company, which considers itself the world's biggest taxpayer, to collect sales tax on digital items and subscriptions sold.

The statement from Apple is as follows, "As the world’s largest taxpayer, we respect the important role taxes play in society. Due to recent changes in Canadian legislation and the growth of our business, sales tax will now be charged on purchases of TV, movies, music, and audiobooks. Apple has been operating in Canada for 38 years and we are proud to deliver the best products and services in the world to our customers here.”
