Buick Cascada convertible coming to dealers next month

Buick's Cascada convertible is a return to reasonably priced open top motoring for families. This is Buick's first convertible since the 1991 Reatta and is a four-seat non-luxury, non-sport car coming to US dealers next month at US $33,900.

"Convertible buyers tend to be very loyal, but a lot of the competition has vacated the market," said Tony DiSalle, Buick-GMC vice president of marketing. I got to see the Cascada a few weeks ago in Detroit prior to the North American International Auto Show.

Intel's Market Development Manager Joe Ellis discusses the benefits it the Sony Vaio Duo, which takes a tablet-first approach to the convertible Ultrabook segment. By allowing a full QWERTY keyboard  retract from underneath the 11-inch tablet, users can have best of both world input options on screen and on a dedicated keyboard. This is a sign of exciting things to come in the Windows 8 market.

SlideShow: A look at Lenovo's Twist and Yoga Windows 8 Ultrabooks

I just got the chance at an exclusive peek at two of the more innovative Windows 8 Ultrabooks coming from Lenovo Canada. The ThinkPad Twist offers the robust build and design of ThinkPads but with the ability to convert the Ultrabook into a 13-inch Windows 8 tablet.

The IdeaPad Yoga is geared towards consumers and can flip the screen 180 degrees to turn it into a tablet or to create a makeshift stand. Both Ultrabooks come with sealed in batteries, a variety of Ivy Bridge Core i5 or i7 processors as well as Gorilla Glass covered multi-touch displays. Pricing and availability has not yet been announced.Expect these in the market shortly after the official Windows 8 launch on October 26.
