Google Trends reveals most searched jokes on International Tell A Joke Day

We've learned that August 16th is International Tell A Joke Day and while we're trying to remember a few good punch lines, we've taking to Google Trends to find out what's funny for Canadians. Are Canadians funny? You bet! We love a good laugh and we don't need Google data to know that Canadians have a good sense of humour! Is it because of the unpredictable weather and the change of seasons? Who knows!

Apparently "Tell a Joke Day" has been celebrated worlwide since jokes began. According to daysoftheyear.com that goes wayyyy back to 1900 BC and apparently it was a fart joke.

Google Trends shows Americans want to move to Canada following Trump win

This tends to happen during the American election season. When a controversial candidate wins, Americans start to look for ways to move to Canada. Google Trends have tweeted and pointed out that following Super Tuesday and Trump’s win in seven states against other Republican candidates, the search engine has had the highest search for “Move to Canada” queries in the company’s history. The numbers have nearly doubled since George W. Bush was re-elected. The other data Google Trends was able to cull include Trump being the top search query for all seven states among the Republican politicians.

On the Democrat’s side, Hillary Clinton beat out Bernie Sanders to take out the seven states. But in terms of searches, Sanders and Clinton were pretty close except for Vermont where Sanders was more popular. Google Trends introduces email subscription service

If you like following hottest trends in search, Google is making it easier for you to follow a certain search trend (like an obsession with cute animal memes perhaps). Google Trends now offers a subscription service that sends you notifications through email about any changes of interest levels for majority of searches, including hot searches and U.S. top chart.
