'Gran Turismo 7' gets Ferrari's Vision hybrid race car on Dec. 23

Gran Turismo 7 is adding a new vehicle to its in-game Vision stable. According to GT series developer Polyphony Digital, we're getting something from Ferrari this time. Similar to its predecessors, the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo gets capabilities production vehicles can only dream of having. The Ferrari concept car gets a "more extreme version" of the V6 engine found on the 499P hypercar the automaker plans to bring to next year's Le Mans endurance race. In the game, the single-seat hybrid will produce over 1,000 horsepower, with three electric motors for even more power.

Ferrari fans should keep their eyes out for an in-game quiz they can take to get early access to the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo.

'Gran Turismo' movie is coming in 2023

Source: Sony

Sony has confirmed its Gran Turismo movie. It'll premiere on August 11, 2023, under the direction of District 9 helmer Neill Blomkamp. The film will be based on the real-life adventures of a player of the racing game. Sony describes the film as a true story based on the "ultimate wish fulfilment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional race car driver." The racing game series has been around since 1997, and there isn't any plot or characters to follow, so this approach makes sense. Whether you'd want to see this game adapted to the big screen is a different conversation altogether.

‘Gran Turismo Sport’ to reintroduce classic solo racing format

For those craving to have the classic solo racing mode in Gran Turismo Sport on the PlayStation 4, you’re getting your wish. According to Polyphony Digital, they are releasing an update next month to introduce a new feature called the GT League. It’s basically a single-player mode that brings back the classic GT modes of the past. Just like before you need to compete in a series of cup competitions with some needing specific cars or models.

While the feature won’t be as fleshed out as those in the previous titles, there are supposedly more races coming next year. There will also be new free cars coming out starting November 27th. Three will be coming then and then 12 more in December (including the Ferrari F40 and Enzo), and a total of 50 new rides by March.

Review: Forza Motorsport 4 on Xbox 360

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios' Forza Motorsport 4 improves on the solid experience offered by Forza Motorsport 3 which is the racing game we have kept coming back to even after the initial thrill of its rival Sony's Gran Turismo 5 wore off. As visually gorgeous and sublime as GT5 is to look at, it isn't as much fun to play as FM3 specially in career mode. Sony's venerable GT5 is the quintessential racing simulator but we find that it isn't the most pleasurable driving game. We were anxious to see if FM4 could be what we were looking for.
