'Halo' lead Joseph Staten leaves Microsoft

Image: Microsoft

Joseph Staten, the head of creative on Halo Infinite and cinematic director on the first three Halo games, is leaving Microsoft. The company confirmed his departure, but it didn't mention where he was headed nor why he left Microsoft after nine years.

Staten took to Twitter to comment on IGN's report, saying, "Hey folks, I am indeed leaving Microsoft. I'll have more info to share soon, but for now, I'd just like to thank all my Xbox colleagues for all their understanding and support as I embark on a new adventure."

'Halo' TV show airs first episode for free on YouTube this week

If you were thinking about checking out the Paramount+ Halo TV series, the first episode is airing this week (starting March 31) on YouTube for US viewers. This teaser is one way for the provider to entice viewers to check out the show and subscribe to the service. Paramount has done this with Star Trek: Picard before.

Here in Canada, though, you can already check out the show on Paramount+ Canada. The series debuted on the service the same day it did in the US on March 24.

Wolverine launches 'Halo'-inspired boots

Source: Wolverine

Here are a pair of boots Halo fans will love. Wolverine teamed up with Microsoft to create rugged footwear inspired by Master Chief. The company will only make 117 pairs of this limited-edition footwear. Halo developer 343 Industries worked with Wolverine for over a year to perfect the design inspired by the brand's Hellcat footwear.

The Wolverine x Halo: The Master Chief boot gets rubber lug outsoles for grip, UltraSpring high rebound midsole, full-grain leather, and hook and loop cover for the laces. It comes in Master Chief green with his Spartan number, 117, on the left boot's heel. It also has the logo of the Materials Group, which made Master Chief's armour. A pair goes for US$225 (roughly CA$280 converted) and will be available at noon Eastern time on March 29 on Wolverine's website.
