Review: HTC One

Text and photos by Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

The HTC One is a giant step for HTC in terms of smartphone design and creation. The Taiwanese company has always been focused on devices that are very well designed, intuitive and beautiful. With the HTC One, the company has come a long way and has produced what is arguably one of the most desirable smartphones we've seen this year, but will it have enough mojo to get customers to abandon their current devices.

Available in the Silver colour shown above, the HTC One features a stunning 4.7-inch screen, a 1.7GHz quad core processor, 2GB of RAM and the world's first Ultrapixel camera (equivalent to 13 Megapixels). The HTC One was launched back in February and was originally slated for a March release in North America but this launch was moved to April.

HTC One delayed, now coming by late April

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

I've received word from HTC Canada that the much awaited HTC One smartphones are going to be delayed in North America to around the end of April, a month after the flagship device was expected to come to market. Below is the statement shared by HTC.

Below is a statement from HTC regarding the availability of the HTC One.

HTC has seen unprecedented demand for and interest in the new HTC One, and the care taken to design and build it is evidenced in early reviews. The new HTC One will roll out in the UK, Germany and Taiwan next week and across Europe, North America and most of Asia-Pacific before the end of April. We appreciate our customers’ patience, and believe that once they have the phone in their hands they will agree that it has been worth the wait.

No reason has been given for the delay although some have speculated HTC's difficulty in procuring some of the components for the device. Will the delay dampen customer's desire for the HTC One now that various other flagship Android devices have been announced or does HTC need to do more to appease its customers?
