Huawei's 7-inch MediaPad X1 leaks, looks to mix it up in the tablet category

Huawei's got a lot planned for Mobile World Congress and this 7-inch MediaPad X1, which was leaked by A Chinese Weibo site, shows us what looks like a really large phablet. Specs are said to include a1.6GHz HiSilicon 910 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16 GB memory, a 1,920 x 1,200 display and a 6,000 mAh battery and it looks like voice capability is onboard. Huawei is gearing up for a huge showing of devices this year. Hopefully some of these devices will come to Canada.

Huawei’s flagship Ascend P6 smartphone is available from WIND

The much awaited Ascend P6 from up and coming smartphone giant Huawei is now available in Canada from Wind Mobile. Available in black, the Ascend P6 is available from Wind for $399. It features Huawei’s proprietary Emotion UI. The smartphone features a 1.5GHz quad-core K3V2E processor and a sleek metallic body, along with a 4.7-inch high definition in-cell display and industry-leading 5MP front-facing camera.

“Our handset business continues to build momentum in Canada and around the world, and as a result we’re able to introduce great, cutting-edge devices like the Ascend P6 to Canadian wireless users,” said Huawei Canada President Sean Yang.

Huawei opens new Regina office, SaskTel commemorates opening by offering Ascend Y300

Huawei Canada officially opened a new office in Regina today to serve as the brand’s sales and support center in Saskatchewan and help strengthen their business with SaskTel. The Canadian telecoms firm commemorated the opening by announcing that they will be offering the Huawei Ascend Y300 for the first time in SaskTel stores in the province on Friday.

The Ascend Y300 is an Android 4.1-powered smartphone with a 4-inch display and 5-megapixel shooter. It will be available in white for $99 without contract or $0 on a two-year contract. The phone will be available on SaskTel’s 4G network.

Huawei Ascend Y300 destined for Bell Mobility and Virgin Mobile

Bell Mobility and Virgin Mobile now offer the cost-efficient  4G-enabled Huawei Ascend Y300 Android smartphone.

Huawei is one of the largest telecom solutions provider in the world, ranking  at no. 3 in smartphone shipments at the end of 2012.  This is the third device that Huawei has launched with a tier one Canadian carrier this year (last month, they launched devices with TELUS and Bell through Virgin).
