Breaking News: iOS 4.2 for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad coming today -brings multitasking, folders and printing

The long wait is over. Version 4.2 is the big iOS update that brings Multitasking, Folders, Unified Inbox, Game Center, AirPlay & AirPrint to iPad and to the iPhone and iPod Touch. For iPad users, this update completely improves on the iPad's features and adds features users have been clamouring for since early this year. As an added bonus, the "Find My iPhone" (or iPad or iPod) feature is now free for all users and allows the ability to locate registered i-devices, send messages or in the event that the devices are stolen, wipe all the user data. Apple's official release follows.

We've been following the developments of the iPhone OS 4, now renamed iOS4, since the early betas were released for developer testing. This new iteration of the iPhone operating system is said to bring 100 new features, the biggest of which is multitasking or the ability to run third party applications in the background efficiently. We loaded iOS4's GM (Golden Master) and tested it, here are some of the things that we found.

Review: Desktop for the iPad

Apple's iPad has a bright and crisp screen which offers a lot of real estate. The lack of windows or multitasking on the iPad ( a limitation that is expected to be rectified in the fall with the availability of OS 4.0 and multitasking) limits what you can do on the device. Desktop app overcomes this hurdle.
