Toronto's Xtreme Labs Announces 10 Million BlackBerry Downloads; Sets Sights on iPad

Xtreme Labs, a leading strategic mobile consulting and development firm, today announced they have recorded their 10 millionth download for their clients' Blackberry-exclusive apps.

Already the creator of over 100 mobile applications for an array of reputable clients, Xtreme Labs has dozens of additional apps currently under development. "We're extremely busy at the Labs," says Farhan Thawar, VP of Engineering at Xtreme Labs. "Our reputation is preceding us when it comes time for potential clients to choose a strategic partner for mobile applications."

Review: Hipstamatic Camera for the iPhone (updated)

It is seldom that we find one iPhone app that gives us so much pleasure to use. As photograhy buffs, we've run the gamut of iPhone camera apps which enhance the device's convenient but often limited built-in camera. We've had our turn with Lomography type cameras as well as special effects apps that alter and enhance photos but many of those feel like cheap gimmicks. When we discovered Hipstamatic App, this all changed.

Borders e-store now live with Kobo, Blackberry and Android integration

Review: Desktop for the iPad

Apple's iPad has a bright and crisp screen which offers a lot of real estate. The lack of windows or multitasking on the iPad ( a limitation that is expected to be rectified in the fall with the availability of OS 4.0 and multitasking) limits what you can do on the device. Desktop app overcomes this hurdle.

Review: 5 Outstanding iPad Apps: Early Edition

The Apple iPad has been out for barely more than a week and already we have seen a number of compelling iPad apps that really define its functionality. The iPad has been heralded as a media consumption device and for the most part that is true.

We wanted to explore how it might be more of a content creation device and possibly a substitute for a notebook computer. Since we re using a US iPad in Canada, we were dismayed to find out that we had limited access to the iPad App Store and were unable to buy the iWorks suite of apps (Pages, Numbers and Keynote).
