Cardflow: Create and share interactive mindmaps on your iPad

Seattle based Qrayon today released Cardflow 2.1 for the iPad, a major update to their popular digital index card App. Cardflow 2.1 adds major new features including the ability to insert links to web pages and online videos, and create tappable hotspots to navigate between cards. This can be used for mind-mapping and to create interactive experiences without any coding. Links continue to work in exported PDFs, which can be shared with colleagues and friends.

Cardflow is a popular tool for novelists, screenwriters, students, educators, and business decision makers. The new features in Cardflow 2.1 dramatically expand its capabilities.

Airbnb launches new products to inspire people to live like locals in places they are visiting

Beginning today, Airbnb is rolling out an updated app, with a range of new features, and launching a global brand campaign that will encourage people to change the way they experience the world around them.

“Our hosts offer more than just generic hospitality - they welcome travelers from around the world into their communities. Today is the start of an exciting journey to help people not just go somewhere, but truly live there.”

Apple announces record-breaking Holiday season for its App Store

Apple's App Store had a record-breaking period this past holiday season. In the two weeks ending January 3, customers spent over $1.1 billion (USD) on apps and in-app purchases, setting back-to-back weekly records for traffic and purchases. January 1, 2016 marked the biggest day in App Store history with customers spending over $144 million (USD). It broke the previous single-day record set just a week earlier on Christmas Day.

Possibly an indicator of new iPhones and iPads sold over the holidays with new owners downloading apps (we'll know more on Apple's earnings call on January 26), this latest news reflects Apple's lead in developer communities and app ecosystems.

New iPhone ad focuses on extensive app ecosystem

Apple's continuing its new iPhone ad campaign which highlights what sets it apart from the competition. The most recent ad, which is titled 'Amazing Apps' pays homage to the App Store's 'one and a half million of the best apps available.'
This highlights the iPhone-first strategy of many developers who know that getting their games, applications and utilities on iOS gives them more opportunities to earn. Of note is the mention that Apple carefully curates which apps make it to the walled garden, which means less crapware and bogus applications available (although, you can't avoid some abandoned or outdated ones). The ad is a refreshing 'if you got it, flaunt it.' reminder of how much power our iPhones have thanks to a thriving app ecosystem.
