Create clips from public podcasts on Overcast

Jon Fingas/Engadget

Maybe you want to share something insightful said in a podcast you were listening to. The iOS app Overcast will make it easy for you to do just that. It’ll let you create minute-long clips of public podcasts—whether these be videos or audio recordings. When you choose to share a clip, you’ll get a basic timeline editor with different aspect ratios to make the video clips more social media-friendly. There will also be badges for listening in specific podcast apps, if you want to share where your followers or loved ones can hear the rest of the episode.

Overcast gets nifty new voice boost settings on iOS app

Podcast manager Overcast brings a bunch of new handy features to its iOS app. These include a new voice boost setting that will custom tune audio and improve volume and quality for when you use the built-in speaker on an iPhone. It has a new smaller visualizer meant to save you a bit of battery. The app now also lets you add or delete a new batch for all episodes of a podcast. The app is free but it has a patron service where you can optionally donate to get access to certain features like a new dark theme and the ability to upload audio files to the Overcast site for streaming.
