Sensory Fiction concept to help you physically experience books

We’ve all heard of Smell-O-Vision as an idea meant to enhance the viewing experience. But we also know that is far from reality at the moment. But what about a book that lets you feel the plot? Well, MIT Media Lab researchers want to make that a reality with the Sensory Fiction prototype. In order to feel the book, the reader will have to wear a vest that is filled with actuators and sensors that are meant to change skin temperature through local heating; to express looseness and tightness through airbags; and simulate increased heart rate or shivering through vibration.

The researchers used the sci-fi novella “The Girl Who Was Plugged In” to pair and demonstrate the abilities of the vest. The book even comes with LED lighting to create ambient lighting for the reader.

Sony Ericsson's Android Tablet prototype pic leaked

We knew it would be a matter of time before we got word of a Sony Ericsson Android tablet. The upcoming Android based 4G tablet device has been photographed by NieuweMobiel  a Dutch technology blog at the TDIA stand in the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona. The report on ITproportal states,

"TDIA officials at the stand told NieuweMobiel that the device would run on Google's Android platform but were not clear about the software version. The tablet is also equipped with 4G technology which is yet to become available in the UK, so there may well be wifi and 3D versions released on the market in the future."

From the photo, it seems this tablet has a 7" inch screen and sports a front facing camera. The home, menu and back buttons are visible as well. It is likely that this will be a tablet with voice capability.
