A Samsung executive provided insights into the development of One UI 7.0, revealing that the upcoming Android overlay has been in development for several years. However, they also noted that some features will be exclusive to newer Galaxy devices due to hardware limitations. This means not all One UI 7.0 features will be available on older phones.
Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 3:12AM While we’re still waiting for the release of the stable version of Samsung’s new One UI, the company is ready to tell us what the new UI based on Android 9.0 is going to be like. The first promo video shows us what Samsung has been trying to achieve with the new look. That includes better one-handed use; cleaner, minimalist look; focus on what’s important on the screen; and a more intuitive interaction with what’s on the screen. One UI is expected to come to Samsung’s newest flagship models (the Note9 and Galaxy S9/S9+) sometime in January. It’ll then trickle down to the S8/S8+ and Note8.
