'Overwatch 2' Season 8 plagued by performance issues on PS5

Overwatch 2’s eighth season launched on Tuesday, but not everyone is having a smooth experience. Many players are experiencing performance issues, especially on PlayStation 5. According to posts on Blizzard’s forums and Reddit, the game is lagging even on the menus.

One player, Sartell, wrote: “I play on PS5 with 120 Hz monitor and settings for that output, but randomly either in [fights] or walking back from spawn, even on menus, I am dropping down to what seems like single digit to low double digit frames per second.”

Naughty Dog reveals 'The Last of Us Part II Remastered' with new mode and features

Naughty Dog has confirmed the rumours and revealed The Last of Us Part II Remastered for the PlayStation 5, coming out on January 19, 2024. The remastered version will feature a new roguelike survival mode, a guitar free play mode, developer commentary, and more.

The new mode called No Return will challenge players to survive randomized encounters with different enemies and environmental factors. You can play as new characters and experience the game’s combat in a new way.

Sony ends Twitter/X integration on PS4/PS5

Sony is ending its integration with X (formerly Twiter) on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles next week. The ability to view any content published on X on PS5/PS4 and post and view content, trophies, and other gameplay-related activities on X directly from PS5/PS4 will end on Nov. 13.

Sony unveils more compact, customizable PlayStation 5

Sony has unveiled a new PlayStation 5 model with a detachable disc drive and 1TB of internal storage. Often called the PS5 "Slim," this new console is slimmer and shorter than the original PS5 and will replace both the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition. It costs US$499.99 (around CA$679) with the drive and US$449.99 (~CA$611) without it in the US. It will only be available in the US, for starters. (You can buy the disc drive separately for US$79.99 (~CA$109) and add it to the base PS5 Digital Edition later.)
