Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’ gets Hall H panel at Comic-Con

Netflix hit Stranger Things is doing something no other original show from the streaming service has done: get a Hall H panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The 6,000-seater Hall H is known to host the biggest shows and movies we geek over. But we aren’t surprised with this development as the buzz surrounding the show has been hot since it first came out and now a second season is debuting on Halloween. They’ll be having their panel at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Other Netflix titles making a Hall H appearance will be the original films Bright by Suicide Squad director David Ayer and its Japanese manga adaptation of Death Note.

‘Stranger Things 2’ wraps up filming

If you’re like us, you’re keeping an eye out for Netflix’s sleeper hit Stranger Things. Now, we learn that shooting for the second season has wrapped up. The cast and crew of the show have been pretty mum about what we can expect from season 2 but we know it’ll explore more of Eleven’s backstory (played by Millie Bobby Brown) and it’s supposedly more horror-oriented than the first season. While we get to see our favorites from season 1, some of the new faces will include Sadie Sink as Max, Dacre Montgomery as her brother Billy, Sean Astin as Joyce’s new boyfriend Bob, Linnea Berthelsen as the mysterious Roman, and Paul Reiser as a member of the Department of Energy. We’re going to have to wait a bit more, though. The show is going to premiere on Netflix on Halloween, October 31st.

‘Stranger Things 2’ to delve deeper into the horror genre

Image: Netflix

If I was being honest, the first season of Stranger Things scared the heck out of me. But it seems the Netflix show is just touching the surface there. It seems things are about to get a lot darker for season 2. At least according to Finn Wolfhard a.k.a. Mike. He told Emmy Magazine that the new season will be “a lot more horror oriented.” How apt since the show is dropping on Halloween this year.

In the second season, we can also expect to see more insight into all of the characters, instead of putting most of the focus on Mike and Will and their families. We’ll get to learn more about Dustin and Lucas this time around. As Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) says, “The great thing about this season is you get to see insights into each character on their own. You’re going to see a lot more into the lives of how the characters are coping with what’s been going on… They’re all very emotionally scarred. They feel alone because their best friend is back and he’s not acting like their best friend anymore. He’s changed.” How intriguing. I’m definitely excited for season 2.

Take a look at these new photos from ‘Stranger Things 2’

As the release approaches (well, if you count Halloween weekend as a close enough release date), Netflix is slowly releasing bits and pieces about the new season of Stranger Things. These aren’t spoilers though, as we know they’re being extra protective about leaks this time. But we do see most of our favorite characters (no sign of Eleven yet, though).
