‘Stranger Things’ crew gets tips from ‘Game of Thrones’ creators on how to protect against leaks

Stranger Things became such a surprise success that its crew needed tips from another extremely popular show on how to go about things moving forward. According to an interview by Entertainment Weekly with Stranger Things creators, they had to approach the producers of Game of Thrones on what to do when it comes to security protocols. “We literally consulted with the producers on Game of Thrones to learn security protocols,” say executive producer Shawn Levy. “I just knew I used to throw my sides away and now they have to be burnt,” says co-creator Ross Duffer of his daily shooting notes. The cast and the show itself now even gets code names. According to Millie Bobby Brown a.k.a. Eleven, “It’s this weird thing. On the call sheets our names are across it and if we lose it, we’re dead.”

Now, they’re hyperaware of the measures they need to take to make sure no spoilers get out. “We had no security protocols last season and we have extensive security protocols this season, Levy says. “I can’t speak about what they are because then people could crack them. We protect every story point, every page of every script.”

The Upside Down is back in ‘Stranger Things 2’ trailer

Things still aren’t okay in Hawkins. Will might be back but there still seems to be a darkness lurking in town. This new Super Bowl ad for the second season of Stranger Things just confirms that our beloved kids aren’t out of the woods just yet. The short trailer shows off footage from a classic Eggo commercial from back in 1979—perhaps reminding us that Eleven is still okay. The show is coming back aptly on Halloween this year and we honestly can’t wait.

‘Stranger Things’ to give us a first look at season 2 in Super Bowl ad

The second season of Stranger Things is expected to come out this year. And we’re getting our first look at the new season when a teaser airs this Sunday at the Super Bowl. To tide us over a bit, there’s a new teaser image from EW showing Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Mike (Finn Wolfhard) in Ghostbusters costumes—what these are for, we can’t say. The second season of the Netflix original show will have nine episodes and it’ll take place a year after the events of the first season. Are you excited?

New details about ‘Stranger Things 2’ get revealed

Netflix

It’s pretty hard to get details on the Netflix hit Stranger Things and its second season. At least that’s what we thought until David Harbour, who plays chief of police Jim Hopper, shares some new details about the show. He tells us a bit about what to expect but at the same time, we really don’t know what we'd be getting when the show airs the summer of this year.

One of the new details Harbour shares is that it’ll happen two years after Will comes back and most of the people in their town still don’t know what happened. Barb is still missing and it seems Nancy (played by Natalia Dyer) is the only one who cares. Aside from this, Joyce Byers (played by Winona Ryder) has a new boyfriend that’ll be played by Sean Astin. And Harbour quips that this happens “much to the chagrin of the chief of police.” The original cast will be making a comeback this season and we should expect a “darker” tale. We can’t wait.
