Winnie Harlow and 'The Sims 4' team up to create Sims with vitiligo

The Sims 4 takes a big step towards better representation in gaming with a free customization update that lets players create Sims with vitiligo. The skin condition, which causes patches of skin to lose their pigment, affects millions of people worldwide. Canadian model and activist Winnie Harlow, who has vitiligo and has been raising awareness about it, collaborated with the Sims team on this update.

To represent gamers with vitiligo of different skin tones and types, the Sims art team designed 61 vitiligo patterns for the first release of this feature.

'The Sims 4' Spa Day Game Pack gets refreshed this week

The Sims 4 and its Spa Day Game Pack is getting a free update this week that brings features like a new nail design from modder Ebonix and a new "High Maintenance" trait. Danielle "EbonixSims" Udo is a veteran modder for the game who has made significant contributions to the game's ability to create diverse Sims. She joins modders like Amira "Xmiramira" Virgil, who've added new skin tones and hairstyles for Black sims, which offered diversity options the original game lacked.

Child Sims can also now do yoga and meditation. You'll get new options for manicures, pedicures, and facial masks, and Sims can earn money from teaching mindfulness. If you want, your Sim can aspire to be a Zen Guru or Self-Care Specialist or simply aim for Inner Peace.

'Star Wars' meets 'The Sims 4' in new game pack

Two big names in the gaming and entertainment spaces are joining forces. Star Wars is coming to The Sims 4 in a new The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu game back launching on September 8. As you see in the trailer, familiar Star Wars characters are getting a The Sims 4 treatment. And yes, you can decorate your home and socialize in Batuu. There will be missions to help advance the story set and unlock different collectibles for your Sim, where you can earn a lightsaber and droid of your own. Rey and Kylo Ren appear in the trailer, so we're hoping to see more memorable Star Wars characters in the game.

Star Wars: Journey to Batuu will be available for the Microsoft Xbox One, Sony PlayStation 4, and the PC through Steam or Origin.

Baby Yoda comes to 'The Sims 4'

Even The Sims 4 can't escape the famous and adorable Baby Yoda, or The Child as he is known on the Disney+ show, The Mandalorian. And it isn't even a mod. The little creature comes with the latest update of the game. Maxis seems to have kept this a surprise as it doesn't appear in the newest patch notes.

The Child appears as a sculpture in the game, and it can be found in the Build/Buy mode under "Sculptures." Or you can just type Baby Yoda in the search function. He's named "The Child Statue" in The Sims 4 with a description, "This statue is a lovable replica inspired by the Disney+ live-action series, The Mandalorian." Now, if we can only get him as an actual baby to adopt in the game, then that would be perfect.
