TravelLog: Winsome Whistler makes for a delightful Summer driving destination

One of the perks of being a journalist is that sometimes you get to travel. In my case, most of my work trips take me to California, New York City, Chicago and the inevitable Las Vegas. It's rare and very special to be sent to a Canadian location, but thanks to GM Canada's various drive programs, I've seen and experienced the best that the Quebec countryside has to offer and was delighted by Victoria, BC's awe-inspiring ecotourism. 

Last month GM took various journalists and influencers to Whistler, B.C. to get acquainted with GMC's new line of Sierra vehicles. Arriving at Vancouver airport, I was paired up with 680 News’ Tim Dimopolous, who took the first leg of our 90-minute drive. Tim used to live in Vancouver and gave me a lot of insight on how the city has changed through the years, he also cued me into when I should get ready for some breathtaking sceneries as we weaved out of downtown traffic into the vast and impressive coastal roads.

The Philippines promotes its country using VR technology

 

We all know that virtual reality technology is a great thing to play around with. But aside from that it has uses for various industries, too. One such way is for tourism. And the Philippines did just that in London, their Philippines Department of Tourist in London posted a video on their official account showing how they’ve managed to leverage 3D and VR tech to promote the many sights of the country. Among other things, they had virtual reality pods set up at the London Waterloo Station to show 360-degree images of the country.

Wine Country Ontario Launches New Travel Guide Mobile App

 

Ontario wineries are recognized around the world as award-winning producers. On a recent press trip to the Niagara region for the preview of this weekend's Niagara Integrated Film Festival, it's no surprise that the stunning vineyards have also become great go-to travel destinations.

This month, Wine Country Ontario releases a new Travel Guide and mobile app that offers trip planning to the region easier. Ontario Wine Country attracts two million visitors each year and this new guide is a keeper with details on the various wine regions as well as where to eat and stay along with local attractions.
