Apple refreshes MacBook Pro Retina line with faster processors, increased RAM capacities

Just as we expected, Apple has given us updated MacBook Pro with Retina Displays. Now more powerful and with a double dose of RAM as standard. The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display features dual-core Intel Core i5 processors up to 2.8 GHz with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.3 GHz and 8GB of memory, up from 4GB in the entry-level notebook.The 13-inch model can also be configured with faster dual-core Intel Core i7 processors up to 3.0 GHz with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.5 GHz.

The top-of-the-line 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display features faster quad-core Intel Core i7 processors up to 2.5 GHz with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.7 GHz, 16GB of memory, up from 8GB in the entry-level notebook, and can be configured with quad-core Intel Core i7 processors up to 2.8 GHz with Turbo Boost speeds up to 4.0 GHz.

Skype's awesome real-time language translation feature demoed by Microsoft

Skype is pushing the envelope in real-time language translation and this was clearly demonstrated recently during an on-stage Q&A with Re/code’s Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg the Code Conference in Ranchos Palos Verdes, California, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella talked about how we are entering a new era of more personal computing. He discussed Microsoft’s goal of creating computing experiences that are more natural, more human, more like us. Very cool.

LG G2 gets anticipated Android 4.4 KitKat OS upgrade

LG Electronics (LG) Canada announced today that the anticipated Android 4.4 KitKat OS upgrade for the G2 smartphone will roll out in Canada by the end of this month. 

“LG is constantly striving to improve the user experience for its mobile customers and the latest KitKat OS upgrade furthers our commitment to Canadians,” said Ross Snow, vice-president of Mobile Communications, LG Canada. “In addition to introducing new features, the KitKat OS upgrade for the G2 delivers a number of optimizations that enhance the entire mobile user experience. iOS 7.1 adoption at 18 % after 72 hours

Adoption of the newly released iOS 7.1 is at 18 % after 72 hours. This is according to Chitika which measures web traffic in North America.

According to AppleInsider, "for the purposes of the study, Chitika Insights studied tens of millions of U.S. and Canadian online ad impressions originating from iOS devices from Mar. 9 through Mar. 12." iOS 7.1 brought a slew of updates as the biggest revision to the Apple mobile OS since it launched six-months ago. The big bonus for users of older devices like the iPhone 4 is that overall performance has actually improved thanks to iOS 7.1.
