Google Keep gets Wear OS 3 tile for making, browsing notes

If you want to quickly pull up a Google Keep note you've made or write a quick one, Google updated its Keep app to the latest version of Wear OS. The app gets two new buttons to let you write a new note or list. At the bottom, there's a browse button to view what's in your Keep account. It seems to be available only on Wear OS 3 devices like the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 and Watch5, as well as the Montblanc Summit 3, after updating to version 5.22.322.03.97 of the app.

Montblanc introduces its first Wear OS 3 watch, the Summit 3

Source: Montblanc

If you want a Wear OS 3 smartwatch that wasn't made by Samsung, then you're in luck. Luxury watchmaker Montblanc has unveiled its first Wear OS 3 watch, the Summit 3. Not only does it get Google's improved software, but it also gets a new-ish Wear 4100+ chip, which should improve performance and battery life. On top of that, you'll also be attracted to that upscale design.

You get a sleek, traditional timepiece look with a case made from titanium. There are both leather and rubber strap options. And some watch faces mimic Montblanc's mechanical models like the 1858 Geosphere. As for smartwatch features, it gets blood oxygen monitoring, sleep tracking, and Google Pay support. Montblanc makes the Summit 3 available worldwide on July 15 for US$1,290 (approx. CA$1,670).

Fossil to launch Gen 6 Wear OS watches on Monday

Fossil's upcoming Gen 6 Wear OS watches are finally arriving. In an email sent to customers, Fossil teases that its Gen 6 smartwatches are "coming fast," and users should "check your email on Monday for first access to Fossil's newest, most advanced smartwatch." There's a countdown clock that points to sometime early on Monday morning.

The Fossil Gen 6 lineup is expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100+ processor and more health tracking features like SpO2 readings. These won't launch as Wear OS 3 devices, though, but Google said an optional upgrade would be available sometime in 2022.
