GoPro recalls 2,500 Karma drones due to power failure

Action camera maker GoPro is hastily recalling  2,500 of its Karma drones bought since Oct. 23 after a small number of the devices lost power during operation. No injuries or damage to property was reported and GoPro says that owners can return the drones for a full refund, no replacements are being offered. The problem with drones losing power during operation is that they become projectiles and can crash into persons and property, a huge issue for GoPro which could be held liable for any damage done resulting from this defect.

In a message on their website, GoPro had this to say, "GoPro is committed to providing our customers with great product experiences. To honor this commitment, we have recalled Karma until we resolve a performance issue related to a loss of power during operation. We plan to resume shipment of Karma once the issue is addressed."

Canadian immigration site crashes during U.S. election night

A sudden spike in interest over Canada's Citizenship and Immigration site has many believing that US citizens aren't happy with the way their presidential election is going at the moment. An error message has been showing up on said site, making it inaccessible to some users.  And while that might be a coincidence, according to a tweet from The Telegraph, people in the U.S. have been searching for the word "emigrate" over the last few hours.

Facebook goes after LinkedIn with job posting feature

Facebook is going after another big social network. This time, it’s taking on LinkedIn with a new feature it’s testing. Facebook is letting page administrators create job postings and receive applications from candidates on its platform. This feature is earning LinkedIn most of its revenue. The social network for business, as it is known, LinkedIn users pay a monthly fee to post resumes and connect with people. It’s a venue for job hunters and recruiters to meet. If Facebook enters the picture, this might spell trouble for LinkedIn. Having job postings on Facebook pages could drive traffic for these companies and give Facebook another revenue stream.
