'Mario Kart Tour' to stop adding new content after Oct. 4

Nintendo

Mario Kart Tour, the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular racing series, is ending its original content updates after October 4. Nintendo announced that the game will only have three more "tours" (multiplayer events) before rehashing previous ones. This means there won't be new courses, drivers, karts, gliders, or features will be after that date.

The game will still be playable, but without new content, it may lose many players over time. Nintendo did not explain why they decided to stop developing new content for the game, which has been a financial success for them. The game has earned nearly US$300 million as of last year, making it Nintendo’s second-most profitable mobile title after Fire Emblem Heroes.

Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 to launch without Double Tap feature

Apple

Double Tap is a new way of interacting with the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. The S9 chip in both smartwatches powers a machine-learning algorithm that “detects the unique signature of tiny wrist movements and changes in blood flow when the index finger and thumb perform a double tap,” according to Apple. The Double Tap gesture can be used to perform the primary function of an app. For example, you can snooze your alarm in the morning by simply tapping your fingers together, without touching your watch.

However, Double Tap won’t be available when the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 hit the shelves next Friday, September 22. Apple says the feature will be added via a software update in October but did not provide a specific date. This is disappointing news for Apple Watch fans who were looking forward to trying out one of the few new features.

Introducing the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max: The ultimate iPhone experience

Apple

Apple has unveiled its new flagship iPhones: the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. These are the most powerful smartphones Apple has ever made, with a titanium body, a customizable Action Button, and a blazing-fast A17 Pro chip. They also have stunning Super Retina XDR displays with ProMotion, always-on display, and StandBy mode.

The iPhone 15 Pro has a 6.1-inch screen, while the Pro Max has a 6.7-inch screen—the same sizes as the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. The A17 Pro chip is the fastest processor in any smartphone, according to Apple, and it can even rival some high-end PCs in performance. The GPU has also been redesigned to enable more immersive gaming experiences on your phone.

What’s new in the Apple Watch Ultra 2?

Apple

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is the latest and greatest smartwatch from Apple. It looks a lot like the first Ultra, but it has a much faster and smarter chip inside. The S9 chip lets you use Siri without an internet connection, and it also improves your location accuracy. You can also enjoy a brighter display (3,000 nits), longer battery life (up to 72 hours in low-power mode), and deeper diving (up to 40 metres) with the Ultra 2.

The new watchOS 10 software adds more features to the Ultra 2, such as widgets, new app icons, and better maps and cycling. You can also customize your watch face with the Modular Ultra option, which shows more data on the edges of the screen. And you can easily answer or end calls, start timers, work as a shutter for your iPhone, and more with a double-tap gesture. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 will be available on September 22 for $1,099. You can pre-order it now.
