After initially announcing it would start preorders for Nintendo's newest console on April 9, Walmart Canada posted on social media that it would delay the preorder of the Nintendo Switch 2 to "align with the timing of preorders to be determined in the US."
The retailer said it would provide details at a later date. Nintendo delayed the preorders in the US last week because of the potential impact of the Trump administration's new tariffs.
Canadian gamers can pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2 starting April 9 from retailers like Walmart Canada ahead of its June 5 launch. The console is priced at $630 or $700 with Mario Kart World.
Key new features include a larger 7.9-inch 1080p LCD screen (up to 4K/60fps docked), 256GB expandable storage, and Joy-Con 2 controllers that can function as a mouse and include a dedicated GameChat button.
Rumours surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Cons have been swirling since last month's teaser video, which showed the controllers skidding across a surface like mice. Now, a newly discovered Nintendo patent seems to confirm the speculation: the Joy-Cons will indeed have mouse-like capabilities.
