Nintendo's Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 hardware lineup drops Oct. 29

Nintendo will launch a special limited-edition Switch 2 hardware lineup on Oct. 29 to celebrate both the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda franchise and the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Releasing one week ahead of the highly anticipated game, the collection features a black, gold, and green aesthetic inspired by Link, decorated with triangle decal patterns, the Triforce symbol, and the Hylian Crest. The hardware lineup includes the Nintendo Switch 2 Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition console (CA$709.99), which comes with themed Joy-Con 2 controllers, alongside a standalone Pro Controller with a Hyrule Castle display stand (CA$139.99) and a protective carrying case with a screen protector (CA$39.99).

First revealed during a Nintendo Direct showcase in September, the commemorative products have triggered massive consumer demand, leading to immediate stock shortages across retailers. Pre-orders for the console, Pro Controller, and carrying case bundle went live earlier this month and sold out almost instantly across official online storefronts and physical locations. Fans hoping to acquire the anniversary edition hardware before the game's release will face limited availability, as Nintendo works to manage inventory constraints amid sky-high demand leading up to launch day.
