Android users can now detect unknown AirTags

Google has started to alert Android users when they detect an unknown tracker nearby. This feature, which was announced last month, can help you find out if someone has planted an AirTag on you or your belongings. You can access this feature through Google Play services on any Android device running version 6.0 or higher. The caveat is it only works with AirTags and not other tracker types.

To enable unknown tracker alerts, head to the Settings app on your phone and look for the Safety and Emergency section. There, you will find a menu where you can turn on or off the alerts. If you have an older version of Android (11 or below), you will find this menu in the Personal Safety section instead. You can also just type in unknown tracker alerts in the Setting app's search function.

Apple is moving the End Call button on the iPhone

Screenshot: Gizmodo

Prepare to retrain your thumb in the coming month. Apple is introducing a minor but noticeable change to the iPhone’s software that will affect muscle memory. The prominent red “end call” button is relocating. The iPhone’s phone app will receive a series of updates in iOS 17, including a redesigned interface that moves the hang-up button to the bottom right corner of the screen, adjacent to other functions.

The button currently occupies a separate space at the bottom center of the phone app. It used to be below the buttons for mute, keypad, or add a call. The new call screen is already accessible for download in a beta version for developers. The change is likely intended to simplify the appearance of the phone app and consolidate all functions in one area.

EA to shut down servers for 'Crysis 3,' 'Dante’s Inferno,' and 'Dead Space 2' in 2023

EA has revealed the next batch of games that will lose their online functionality. According to EA’s Online Services Shutdown support page, the publisher will end the server support for Crysis 3Dante’s Inferno, and Dead Space in 2023. Crysis 3’s servers will go offline on September 7, while Dante’s Inferno and Dead Space 2 will follow suit on December 8.

Crysis 3 was remastered by EA in 2021, along with Crysis and Crysis 2. However, none of the games in the Crysis remastered trilogy have online multiplayer modes. Although Crytek announced in 2022 that it was working on Crysis 4, there has been little news about the next entry in this long-dormant franchise.

Crysis 3Dante’s Inferno, and Dead Space 2 are not the only games EA is cutting off from online services in 2023. You can check out more titles here.
