'Fortnite' ends support for Windows 7 and 8

Fortnite's new cyberpunk-themed "Mega" season is coming on Friday. But if you're playing on the PC, you'll need to have a Windows 10 machine. Epic Games already announced in December that it planned to drop support for older Windows versions. And it looks like the change happens today. If you are on Windows 7 or 8 and want to try out the "Mega" season, Epic recommends using NVIDIA's GeForce Now cloud gaming service.

With the return of The Mandalorian this month, Lucasfilm and Microsoft partnered to give fans a chance to take home some Mandalorian-inspired gear. You can enter ongoing sweepstakes for a limited-edition Xbox Series S and X bundle, complete with a custom Grogu Xbox Controller and hoodie. Meta's 2023 layoffs may match the scope of last year's

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg refers to 2023 as the "year of efficiency," and part of that means more layoffs. The first wave of cuts is expected to be announced next week, with non-engineering roles being hit hard. The company is expected to shut down projects and teams in conjunction with these job cuts. Facebook's parent company is expected to do multiple layoff rounds over the coming months, resulting in another 13% cut of its workforce.

Last year, Meta cut approximately 11,000 jobs or around 13% of its employees. Among the projects expected to get axed include wearable devices in the works at its Reality Labs (Meta's hardware and metaverse division).
