SlideShow: First look at the Asus Zenfone and PadFone from CES 2014

One of the more interesting reveals this year at CES 2014 was Asus PadFone which is a smartphone that docks into a tablet to make use of of the tablet's larger screen and controls. It is one of those aspirational products for the 'user who can't decide between a tablet or a smartphone,' and yes it competes with the large smartphone or Phablet demographic. Asus also revealed its line of ZenFones which are Android powered smartphones in 4, 5 and 6-inch screens and various colours. While apparently basic smartphones running Android 4.3, they promise an update to 4.4 KitKat. On tap is HSPA+ and  starts with 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2520 processor for the 4-inch version. No word on in and when these will make it to Canada. but it is interesting to see Asus mixing it up and diving into the mobile space.

There is no information about the pricing yet but we are willing to bet it will cost an arm and a leg and then some. Better start saving up.
