Lenovo's Miix 2 10 and 11 tablets surface at CES 2014

We're starting to see all sorts of interesting new form factors thanks to Intel's Bay Trail Atom processors that seem to offer improved computing power without guzzling too much battery power. Lenovo's Miix 2 tablets, which somewhat resemble the form factor of Microsoft's own Surface devices, are tablet-first hybrids that can be docked into keyboard accessories for a fuller Windows 8 computing experience. The 10.1-inch variant runs the Atom processor while the 11.6 version runs an Intel Core processor. These new Miix tablet/laptop hybrids are coming in April 2014.

CES 2014: Lenovo joins the 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablet category with the ThinkPad 8

The 8-inch tablet market for Windows 8 devices is going to see some serious competition. We love Dell's Venue 8 Pro and what it brings to the market but Lenovo's done one better with its recently revealed ThinkPad 8 which brings an 8.3-inch screen with a  1,920 x 1,080 resolution. It is powered by a 2.4GHz quad-core Atom processor, 128GB storage and an 8-hour battery life plus 8 hours of battery life. It should start at around US $449 when it comes to market in the next month.

Polaroid introduces 4K UHD TV at CES

Polaroid is looking at the bigger picture (quite literally) with a new product they are launching at CES. Polaroid will be offering a 50-inch Ultra HD television worth about US$999.99. Empire Electronics licensed Polaroid’s brand to develop and market the new 4K TV. It will feature three HDMI ports and the imaging company claims it will have the “highest quality picture resolution at the best price.” Polaroid will also introduce a 50-inch Smart TV equipped with Roku Streaming Stick for half the price at $599.99.
