LaCie introduces spherical hard drive

Wanting to produce unique-looking hard drives, LaCie partnered with silversmithing firm Christofle in 2011. This year’s limited edition hard drive comes in the form of a silver sphere aptly called the LaCie Sphere. The 1TB drive looks like a high-end Google Nexus Q with a single USB 3.0 port and a blue status light located at the base. Unveiled at CES, the Sphere is expected to launch during the first quarter of this year at around $490.

Sphero 2B reinvents the robotic remote control toy

Negatives revamps Instagram mobile browsing

Lifehacker likens the new Negatives app to what Webstagram did for Instagram on the Web browser. The app is designed to be a more “beautiful” way to view your Instagram feed. You won’t get the same functionalities you will get from the official Instagram app though. However, the app will show you the people you follow and display their images as a film roll. You can just swipe through the feed or tap on a specific image to see it in full. Yes, you can also see the captions, comments, and hashtags but remember that you can’t comment. It really is an app made for Android and iOS users that just want to marvel at the great (and not so great) shots upload on the photo-sharing service.

Yahoo! redesigned its Sports app to fit with the iOS 7 look and added a new GIF creation feature called Loops. It will allow you add your own caption, effects, and comments right inside the app. You don’t even have to look for that important or hilarious moment outside of the Sports app. You can download the app for the first time here or wait for the update to land on your iPhone or iPod touch.
