Acer reveals special Star Trek edition of the Aspire R7 notebook up for auction

Acer and Paramount Pictures have partnered in the creation of a series of rare Aspire R7 Limited Edition notebooks  to celebrate the release of the film, “Star Trek Into Darkness.”  Acer created only 25 units of the revolutionary R7 touch-enabled Limited Edition notebook and none have been available for purchase. The notebooks will be put into auction staring June 14th for a good cause.

Twitter changes up TweetDeck’s look

Gone are the trademark dark gray/black and yellow colors of TweetDeck as Twitter redesigned the app to look more like it belonged in the Twitterverse—think blue and white.

This fresh-looking update adds to the other changes Twitter has incorporated into the web app the past few months, such as support for Twitter cards that allows you to see expanded views of tweets and a more minimal left-hand navigation. You can read more about the new changes on Twitter’s blog.

Microsoft Outlook to make its debut on Windows RT

With the upcoming launch of Windows 8.1, Microsoft is finally adding the blatantly missing piece of the Microsoft Office suite on RT, an official Outlook app. The arrival of a native Outlook app will provide all the Outlook functionality with a simpler user interface ideal for Windows RT devices.

Google Android 4.2 keyboard now up for download

In a move that can be seen as bypassing its partners, Google has released its stock Android 4.2 keyboard on Google Play for devices running Android 4.0 and up. At the moment it is only available in English but other languages are said to be added soon. 

The free Google keyboard will bring you gesture-based typing and typing suggestions as well as the stock typing experience you might have wanted.
