Facebook launches Developers Live

Facebook launched Developers Live, a new channel for developers to stay up to date on news, tutorials and speaking sessions.

With Developers Live, developers will have a central place to learn about the latest tools and get  access to  the product  managers and engineers who created them.  Our first live event will take place on February 19th and will feature Doug Purdy, Director of Developer Products.

Over time, Facebook has invested in upgrading the platform’s developer site [https://developers.facebook.com/], fixing bugs and improving resources; the Developers Live site is part of Facebook’s continued commitment to Operation Developer Love [https://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/417/].

Video: The Chromebook Pixel, a 4K notebook inspired by the MacBook Pro

If this leaked video is to be believed, Google might be working on an uber-Chrombook with a four million pixel resolution. Form factor is clearly derived from Apple's unibody MacBook Pro (nothing new here since the latest Samsung Chromebook is the splitting image of the 11-inch MacBook Air).  The killer feature here is multi-touch, which makes little sense for a Chromebook but if this can run a derivative of Android, then multi-touch is good, yes? If this is a fake, someone sure went through a whole lot of trouble to create a convincing video.

BlackBerry: Z10 Launch was best BlackBerry smartphone launch ever

BlackBerry just sent out a release offering the following statement, "In Canada, yesterday was the best day ever for the first day of a launch of a new BlackBerry smartphone. In fact, it was more than 50% better than any other launch day in our history in Canada,” said Thorsten Heins, President & CEO of BlackBerry. “In the UK, we have seen close to three times our best performance ever for the first week of sales for a BlackBerry smartphone.” No actual figures or numbers were released but this indicates a fresh start for the new BlackBerry 10 OS.

We're still waiting for factual sales and activation figures from BlackBerry and their carriers.
