Kodak files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection

It is a sad day for many who grew up around Kodak and its film, CD and digital products.

Reports that the company has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection. This is a sad, yet not altogether unexpected move. The rising tide of competition in digital cameras, which Kodak also pioneered, plus its lacklustre performance in newer industries like printers, digital photo frames and its inability to continue leveraging the sale of its patent portfolio have eventually done the company in.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 goes on sale for $100 off in Canada

Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 has gone on sale for $100 off the original price. This means that the base 16GB version of Samsung's slim Honeycomb tablet now costs $399 while the 32GB version costs $499. Both Future Shop and Best Buy are offering the tablets online and in stores. The Galaxy Tab is the latest tablet to go on sale in 2012, Sony's Tablet P as well as BlackBerry's PlayBook have also reduced their prices at the start of the year.
