Design flaw in Sandy Bridge support chip will cost Intel $700M to fix

Intel Corporation has discovered a design issue in a recently released support chip, the Intel® 6 Series, code-named Cougar Point, and has implemented a silicon fix which will cost the company $700 Million. The chipset is utilized in PCs with Intel’s latest Second Generation Intel Core processors, code-named Sandy Bridge.

SourceCode: IBM turns 100, Android overtakes Symbian

Google's Android OS has finally overtaken Nokia's Symbian OS as the world's most popular smartphone platform in the fourth quarter, according to the research firm Canalys. 32.9m phones running  various versions of Android were sold to retailers and mobile networks in the fourth quarter of 2010, compared with Symbian's total sales of 31m in the quarter, the report said.
