Samsung ships 2 Million Galaxy Tabs in three months

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Samsung just announced that they have sold 2 million of their Galaxy Tab Android tablets in the past three months which is remarkable considering that they are only selling the 3G + Wi-Fi models that need to have a data plan and are sold through mobile carriers. We're hoping that the Galaxy Tab's strong adoption and popularity will guarantee a Honeycomb (Android 3.0) update in the near future. It will also be interesting to see how the Wi-Fi only variant of the Galaxy Tab sells once it is released. We recently wrote a column on why the Samsung Galaxy Tab may be the most compelling eBook reading device today.

Hipstamatic iOS App does prints too

Hip Ecosystem: Hipstamatic and Hipstamart make your cool photos even cooler with a new print servicesWhen we reviewed the Hipstamatic App  some time ago we were impressed by its robust feature set, ease of use and clever array of film, lenses and flashes that enhanced pictures by giving them a retro look and feel. Hipstamatic has grown into a culture with its own ecosystem which has expanded to include the Hipstamart printing service. For US$4.99 you can get nine  4"inch prints and for $7.99 three 7"inch prints right from your iPhone. We tested the service and it takes about 10 days to arrive. The photos are finished nicely in matte and printed on Fuji Crystal Archival paper.

Review: Palm Pre 2

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

It has been a while since we've been excited about anything related to Palm. The original Palm Pre and its WebOS mobile operating system showed early promise and seemed even more refined than Google's early Android 1.5 OS but just didn't gain enough steam to compete in the smartphone marketplace that, ironically, Palm once dominated with its Treo line of devices.

Now an HP subsidiary, Palm has released the Pre 2 which is a GSM smartphone that's available on Rogers ($99 on contract and $499 outright). There is a lot more to like this time around, but is it enough to put Palm back on the map?
