Clubhouse starts dark mode support rollout on mobile

If you have been waiting for Clubhouse to offer dark mode on its Android or iOS app, your wait is almost over. The social audio app is rolling out the feature to both platforms. Clubhouse is opting out of a complete black interface. Instead, its dark mode is a "velvety dark background" with light text that's not exactly white. The platform opted for this combination to make it more comfortable for use at night. As with other apps offering the feature, you can choose to enable dark mode based on your device's settings or keep it in that setting.

To get access to it, you'll need to update to the latest version of Clubhouse. But it might take a "couple of days" for the feature to roll out to all users.

Pinterest's new WooCommerce extension turns sellers' products into shoppable Pins

Source: Pinterest

Pinterest and WooCommerce are making it easier for merchants to use the platform to sell their products. They launched a new Pinterest extension that can turn your product catalogue into shoppable Product Pins. When you install the extension, it automatically turns your products into Pins that people can search and browse for buying on the platform. It even gives you data on which products customers interact with on the app, so you'll know the best-selling or most saved items. You can get more info on how to install it here.

The companies recommend sellers to use the extension instead of manually uploading photos since it automatically updates details like pricing and product availability. If you want to try it out, you're lucky that Canada is one of the countries to get the feature now.

TikTok tests a 'dislike' button in the comments

Source: @iniyaspip/Twitter

But it's trying out a different approach to it. The dislike option in the comments won't have a counter of how many dislikes it got. Instead, the user who "registered a dislike" will see that they have done so. TikTok's goal for this feature is to help users "feel more control" over what they're seeing. The company wants to use this community feedback to add to the factors it considers for keeping the comment section "consistently relevant and a place for genuine engagement."

Some users who are part of the test have been sharing screenshots online, showing the thumbs down button beside the heart in the comments section. They didn't want to make the number visible to "avoid creating ill-feeling between community members or demoralize creators." We aren't entirely sure how this will help out creators or improve the commenting feature on the platform. But it is still being tested, so how it's used or handled will evolve depending on whether TikTok will do a wider, official release.

Gearing up for Ontario’s iGaming Launch

Starting on April 4, 2022, the Ontario gambling market will undergo significant changes, with the online gambling and single-sports betting markets expanding and becoming available to a wider range of operators. From next month, the province will run the iGaming scheme, an online gambling market designed to expand the industry in Ontario.

Whilst single-sports betting has not been illegal in Ontario for some time, consumer choice was limited to PROLINE+, an operator run by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG). This change effectively means that more online operators will be allowed to offer their services to consumers.
