Pinterest rumoured to acquire VSCO

Are we about to get a Pinterest x VSCO mashup? A new report by the New York Times claims that Pinterest might be thinking of acquiring the photo and video editing and sharing app. Neither side has confirmed the negotiations.

But it might definitely work in Pinterest's favour to purchase the "once-buzzy start-up" that became known for "VSCO girls" by Generation Z users back in 2019. On top of that, it will bring its expertise in photo- and video-editing to Pinterest's platform, which can only improve its core offering. We're going to keep our eye out for any updates.

E3 2021 will be a '100 percent free' all-digital event

E3 in 2021 will be understandably an all-digital event. And its organizers want to squash rumours that there will be a paywall for certain parts of the show. In a tweet, the ESA said, "E3's 2021 digital show is a free event for all attendees," and then added in a follow-up statement that "there will be no elements at E3 2021 that will be behind a paywall." We don't know what the event will be like, but we're sure to hear more in the coming weeks.

Sony plans to launch new Xperia on April 14

It looks like Sony has a new smartphone coming out soon. Droid Life spotted a banner on the company's YouTube page that announced the upcoming event on April 14 at 16:30 JST. It might be Sony's rumoured Xperia 1 III (pronounced as Mark 3), which is said to have features like a 6.5-inch 4K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, 5,000mAh battery with support for 65-watt charging, and more.

Spotify rolls out new personalized mixes based on your favourite artists, genres, decades

Sometimes you've played your favourite Spotify playlists to death, but you don't know what to listen to next. Spotify is offering you more personalized playlists with the newly launched Spotify Mixes. These are inspired by the Daily Mix feature, but this time you get specific categories that you can pick from, including artist mix, genre mix, and decade mix.

Each mix takes your listening habits into account. Spotify promises "you won't just hear your favourite artists, but your favourite songs from those artists." As with the other personalized Spotify playlists, it will add songs that might suit your taste. These playlists are updated frequently to keep things fresh, and they will evolve along with your preferences. Spotify Mixes is rolling out for both Free and Premium users globally.
