Mobvoi teases imminent smartwatch reveal

Image: Mobvoi

In a recent teaser on X (formerly Twitter), Mobvoi hinted at the upcoming launch of a new wearable. The teaser uses the cryptic message "The future arrives in days" alongside an image that appears to be a smartwatch closely resembling the TicWatch Pro 5.

This suggests that we might be seeing either a new variant of the TicWatch Pro 5 or, more likely given the typical annual release cycle for smartwatches, the TicWatch Pro 6. With Google and Samsung following a yearly update cycle, it's reasonable to expect Mobvoi to do the same, especially considering their last smartwatch, the TicWatch Pro 5, launched in late May 2023. We'll likely know more about the upcoming reveal in the next few days. Stay tuned!

Gone is the tabbed navigation bar. Now, you can customize the layout to prioritize your favourite playlists, line-in sources, and even specific carousels from music services (like Spotify's "New releases"). A persistent search bar at the bottom lets you find music quickly while swiping up from the mini player reveals a system overview for volume control and grouping speakers.
