iOS 10.2 is now available for download with various new emoji, features and bug fixes

Apple has a surprise for iOS users today. iOS version 10.2 is now available for iPhones, iPod Touches and iPads. For Canadian users, we get over 100 new emoji created in surprising detail, the update also brings new settings and effects to Messages, including a timely celebration effect. Users of the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus now have three new wallpapers, all users can now preserve camera settings, there's also a new headphone icon when you're connected to  Bluetooth headphones. On my daily driver iPhone SE, the update weighed in at 331 MB and took 25 minutes plus a restart to install.

iOS once more shows its superiority in terms of software updates. Checking Settings > General > Software Update quickly brings up the download as an option. No other mobile OS does this as well or as efficiently. Hit jump for the full list of changes.

Facebook to introduce 360-degree live video

It seems like a natural progression for Facebook to bring together two of its biggest projects: live video and virtual reality. The social network announced plans of releasing 360-degree live video feature to its users. This’ll help bring you right into an event. It won’t be available to all users when it’s released but will come to publishers first. Facebook will officially introduce the feature on Tuesday starting with a video from the Mars Desert Research Station facility in Utah thanks to a partnership with National Geographic.

‘The Fate of the Furious’ trailer has Vin Diesel on the dark side

The Fate of the Furious a.k.a. Fast and Furious 8 has Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the side against his family and it involves many car chases, prison fights, explosions, tanks, and even a submarine. The franchise has never shied away from fantastical action sequences and it doesn’t look like it’s stopping in this one. But with Dom against his crew, we’re wondering what will become of the #F8 gang. The film is expected to land in theatres on April 14, 2017.
