HTC tipped to drop M9 smartphone and first smartwatch soon

And so the rumour mill ahead of Mobile World Congress in March has started turning. This time, HTC is reportedly introducing its latest flagship, the M9, as well as its first smartwatch. According to a “person familiar with the matter,” the M9 will run on Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 20-megapixel rear shooter, and an improved UltraPixel front camera. It will also come with new Sense UI (Sense 7) and Dolby speakers.

As for the smartwatch, it is expected to come integrated with Under Armour’s new fitness software, since the two companies have partnered for HTC’s Record app. The app is meant to pull in stats from different fitness-tracking gadgets to centralize tracking and sharing. The smartwatch from the Taiwanese company was expected last year but according to executives, the wearable just wasn’t ready for a debut. We’ll let you know if we find out anything more concrete. For now, let the MWC countdown begin.
