Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition gets Android Lollipop update

Google is rolling out Android Lollipop to the Google Play edition of Samsung Galaxy S4. It’s joining the list of OTA updates for GPe devices that include the Motorola Moto G, HTC One M7, and HTC One M8. However, unlike the other GPe devices, the S4 is getting the Android 5.0 update instead of the Android 5.0.1. Keep your eyes peeled for the OTA to come your way. But if you use a standard Galaxy device, you will have to wait a bit more.

Facebook gets rid of Bing Search results

Facebook and Microsoft have had a pretty amicable relationship for a while already. But that doesn’t mean Facebook plans to use all its services. The social network has quietly gotten rid of Bing Search results on its site. A spokesperson from Facebook told Reuters, "We're not currently showing web search results in Facebook Search because we're focused on helping people find what's been shared with them on Facebook."

Yes, the social network is working on showing you specific posts when you search within Facebook. Letting go of Bing Search doesn’t mean the end of their relationship though. They are said to be working together in other areas as well.

Adobe reports new online sales records for Thanksgiving, Black Friday; $1.33 Billion and $2.4 Billion respectively

Adobe released its 2014 Digital Index Online Shopping data for the holiday season. Between November 1 and November 28, $32 billion have been spent online, 14 percent more than in 2013. Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday set new sales records with $1.33 billion and $2.4 billion, respectively.

Mobile devices continued to play a dominant role. For the first time smartphones nearly doubled their share of total online sales on both days. November 11 (“Singles’ Day”) set a new sales record with $1.29 billion and is expected to surpass Cyber Monday in growth this year. The average order value for sales coming directly from a social network was led by Facebook with $114.45.
