'Star Trek: Resurgence' officially launches on May 23

Dramatic Labs is finally ready to launch the narrative adventure game Star Trek: Resurgence. It'll launch on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC via the Epic Games Store on May 23. The only modern-day platform missing is the Switch. If the game seems like a Telltale-like title (think The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us), it's because Dramatic Labs is run by former Telltale developers.

Star Trek: Resurgence is set shortly after the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation, which means it happens before Star Trek: Picard but somewhat around the same time as Star Trek: Lower Decks. The two lead characters might not be familiar to fans, but Dramatic Labs teases legacy characters throughout the universe, like Spock (but in his aged Ambassador Spock form). Resurgence uses the Unreal 5 engine, so that should eliminate some of the jittery graphics in old Telltale titles.

A 'Call of Duty' board game is coming in 2024

Activision has partnered with board game publisher Arcane Wonders, Genuine Entertainment, and Evolution to make a board game version of Call of Duty. The board game is said to feature a fast-paced blend of combat, strategy, and tactical planning. The trailer doesn't give us a clue about the gameplay. But we know that you and your fellow players will take on the guise of soldiers. You'll battle opponents with combat skills and different weapons. There will be various scenarios and gameplay modes, and the action will happen in different maps from the Call of Duty games.

More details will be revealed in the coming months. And the pre-orders for Call of Duty: The Board Game will start this fall.

When you have the latest app version, you must follow the prompts to sign into Google and enable syncing. Of course, make sure your Google account is secure to prevent intruders from misusing the Authenticator.

Apple's mixed-reality headset might use a magnetic cable for its external power supply

Apple's rumoured mixed-reality headset is expected at WWDC 2023. And we're getting more details ahead of its launch. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman shared more about the external power supply the headset comes with. The power supply is offloaded from the headset because it'll help prevent overheating and make it lighter. Gurman reports the "Reality Pro/Reality One" headset will have two ports: a USB-C interface for data transfers and a "new proprietary charging connector." It features a round tip that magnetically attaches to the headset. You would supposedly need to rotate it to lock the cable in place. From this description, it looks like it's reminiscent of the MagSafe power port.

The power supply will reportedly be the size of an iPhone and look similar to Apple's MagSafe Battery Pack. It can reportedly power the headset for up to two hours on a single charge. You will recharge it via a USB-C cable connected to a MacBook Pro power adapter. Gurman believes Apple will offer an option to buy additional packs to extend its battery life.
