Being November, commonly known to guys as prostate cancer awareness month or "Movember", it was timely to attend the first annual Gentleman’s Expo over at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in downtown Toronto. The show was, as you can guess, about all things manly and gentleman-like with activities such as: scotch tasting, charity poker (with proceeds going to Movember), hair cuts, straight razor shaves, shoe shines and a lot more. $199 for a first generation Microsoft Surface tablet isn't a bad deal. Best Buy Canada's flyer for Black Friday features last year's click-happy tablet at $150 off the current selling price. The Surface RT is the 32GB version and it will have Windows RT installed but can be upgraded to Windows RT 8.1. Microsoft Office Home and Student (RT version) are also included. I remember when boxed versions of Office cost around $199.

I actually bit the bullet and got one of these for myself. So far, it's been great. Ordered from Best Buy on Black Friday and was surprised to get my Surface delivered on Sunday! It took a few hours to update the OS and then install Windows 8.1 on ARM but since then it has been smooth sailing.
