Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 launching early, confirmed for September

Qualcomm has officially confirmed that its next flagship Snapdragon chipset, widely expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, will be unveiled earlier than its predecessor. The announcement came today during the company's Computex presentation in Taiwan, revealing that the annual Snapdragon Summit will occur from September 23 to September 25.

This confirms recent rumours suggesting an earlier launch for Qualcomm's top-tier mobile silicon. The Snapdragon Summit is the traditional platform for the unveiling of the company's latest and greatest Snapdragon processors.

Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S25 series, highlighting a significant focus on artificial intelligence capabilities. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, the S25 lineup features a dedicated Personal Data Engine core for enhanced AI processing.

This dedicated core enables personalized AI experiences, learning user habits and interacting with other Samsung devices (like the Galaxy Ring or Watch) to anticipate needs and automate tasks. For example, the phone could automatically turn off the TV when the user falls asleep or suggest a "sleep mode" to minimize distractions.
