Bell TV app goes live

Have those popular live or on-demand channels stream right into your tablets and smartphones with Bell’s new Bell TV app at no extra charge. Bell Fibe TV users can even stop and resume on-demand programming between their televisions at home and their mobile devices. The Bell TV app also adds the Bell Mobile TV service, which allows users to watch TV anywhere over Bell’s high-speed wireless network or over Wi-Fi. Up to 10 hours of Mobile TV connectivity is available for a lot of Bell Mobility rate plans or it can come as a $5 a month add-on that has no effect on the data usage in a customer’s plan.

'Jobs' biopic makes $6.7 million in opening weekend, below distributor expectations

Ashton's Kutcher's Steve Jobs biopic 'Jobs' made $6.7 million in its opening weekend. This was substantially less than the $8-9 million expected by its distributor. The film cost $12 million to make and played on 2,381 screens for its opening weekend. It covers various moments in the life of Steve Jobs and Apple Computers. The film was hounded by some claims of innacuracies by none other than Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Have you seen 'Jobs' on the big screen? Did you like it?

Gold Standard: Images of gold iPhone 5S parts emerge

The Apple rumour mill has a new one for you, gold iPhones. It seems that the next iPhone will come in gold and there's a leaked part that gives us an idea of what this could look like. Reports say that the new colour won't be shiny gaudy blingy gold but it will resemble the treatment and finish on the gold iPod mini. Why gold? No one really knows but apparently the colour is easier to apply or spray on than black, slate or silver. Also it is supposedly 'more champagne and less gold,' in terms of colour.

What's more interesting is that the gold hue apparently transcends the visible parts of the device and is visible even in the components.

Microsoft Tag to take a dirt nap on August 15, 2015

Microsoft's proprietary QR and bar code clone, Microsoft Tag, is going to go the way of Clippy, Kin and Zune on August 15, 2015. While Microsoft's Tag standard was once heavily promoted, the general failure of QR codes in general didn't help it at all, so the company is wisely shelving it.
