Google brings end-to-end encryption to Gmail on the web

Source: Google

Google is finally bringing end-to-end encryption to Gmail. But it will be for Google Workspace and education users. End-to-end encryption “ensures sensitive data in the email body and attachments are indecipherable to Google servers. Customers retain control over encryption keys and the identity service to access those keys.”

You can apply for beta access to test the feature through this link. Google requires that both the sender and the recipients have end-to-end encryption turned on and valid certificates. You won't be able to send an email if any of the recipients are missing a valid certificate.

LG will introduce a new InstaView refrigerator at CES 2023

Source: LG

One of the new devices LG plans to bring to CES 2023 is a new InstaView French-Door refrigerator. This new 25.5-cubic feet counter-depth model sits flush with the cabinetry and features unobtrusive pocket handles. It maintains its sleek look with the flat-door design, stainless steel borders, and mirror-coated InstaView glass panel. When you knock twice on the panel, you can check what's inside without having to open the door.

This InstaView ref can produce four different types of ice and keeps food fresh longer with LG's advanced freshness technologies. LG was able to increase internal storage space on this refrigerator by redesigning some of its core components. It reduced the cold air duct and evaporator and improved its insulation, allowing 25% more storage than previous counter-depth models.

M2 Mac Pro expected to get delayed

Apple hasn't equipped its Mac Pro line with its latest M2 chip yet. But that might change soon, or soon-ish. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the company is delaying the release of an M2-equipped Mac Pro because it is reportedly developing a new next-generation M2 Ultra chip specifically for the high-end desktop. This M2 Mac Pro will supposedly sport up to 24 CPU cores, 76 graphics cores, and 192GB of RAM. It is less powerful than previous rumours, but that might be a cost-cutting measure for what's already considered a premium (a.k.a. very expensive) desktop.

Another reason for the delay is Apple looking to move its manufacturing from Texas to Vietnam. The existing Mac Pro models are finalized in Austin, even though its main internal components are made in China. If this move is true, the internal components will continue to be made in China, while its finishing will be done in Vietnam. That should save time in the long run, but it'll affect the release for now.
